“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

I’ve had the privilege and honor to be part of many wonderful life experiences, but the most rewarding for me has been motherhood.  It seems that only yesterday our daughter and son were still small, reliant on us for everything.  Now they are not only grown and independent, but they even teach mom and dad a few things.

My how things have changed!

It is so awesome to watch your children grow into responsible adults and see their relationships with the Lord develop. For me personally, it is one of the most exciting aspects of motherhood.  We plant and water seeds of faith, but what a glorious day when we see our children’s faith journey begin to blossom into a personal relationship with Jesus.

I love this quote from Oswald Chambers…“You can never give a person that which you have found, but you can make him homesick for what you have.”

Little eyes watch everything we do.  I am by no means perfect, and over the years I have missed the mark many times in life, but one thing is certain… my love for the Lord is genuine, and my kids know it!

The most important thing we can teach our children is to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength and to follow HIM all the days of their life.

The best way that we can impart this lesson to our children is for them to see us living it out in our own lives day by day.

“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.”  (Deuteronomy 11:18-21)
