In 2010, my husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in Paris. It was the vacation of a lifetime. Our ten day excursion allowed us plenty of time to explore the many wonderful tourist attractions throughout the magnificent city.

One of our tours took us on an exploration of the Louver – the infamous Parisian art museum. The Louver is filled with paintings and sculptures by well known artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Claude Monet. Famous works such as the Mona Lisa continually pay tribute to the artists who have long departed. The designers of these masterpieces have perished, but their legacy remains. Their lives have left an indelible mark on this world for generations to come.

Have you thought about what kind of legacy you wish to leave behind?

A few years ago, a popular Christian song called “Legacy” by Nichole Nordeman convicted me to think about how I hope to be remembered when my time on earth is finished. The song asks the question… did we choose to loveand did we point to God enough to leave our mark on this world.  I don’t know about you, but this is the legacy I hope to leave behind.

“I desire to do your will O my God; your law is within my heart.” (Psalm 40:8)

Do you want to leave a legacy?

Choose to love… apply God’s truth… die to self…. live for Christ…and bear spiritual fruit that lasts.

“This was credited to him as righteousness for endless generations to come.” (Psalm 106:31)

Spread the love
