And following her update, you will find the daily encouragement devotion for today entitled, “Truly Blessed”.

Hi Everyone!

For those of you who have been following my posts, today is the launch of my new blog which can be found on my website, His-wordpress.com. Keeping true to the mission of “His word press,” my blog is called, “Logos.”  You can discover the meaning of this word on my first blog post, entitled “Logos.” Simply follow the link below to His-wordpress.com and read the first post.

 Pass along this information to everyone you know. Jesus told His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. We are blessed to live in an era of technology where this is not only possible but easy!  Remember, the book will be available for purchase on 12.12.12.

 Thank you for your help in spreading this story and partnering with me on this journey. I am so very grateful.  We are almost there… just two more days! If you haven’t already, be sure to watch the video book trailer!     http://youtu.be/cnVZeZMLqVA

Truly Blessed

Many have grown complacent concerning the blessings and freedoms we have in this country. We’ve grown accustomed to the modern conveniences and perks, and sometimes we feel entitled to that which we’ve done nothing to earn or deserve. People coming to our country, looking for a better way of life, are shocked by the waste and apathy of our manyU.S.citizens. We are the most blessed nation on earth, but do we really appreciate what we have been given?

“Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.” (1 Chronicles 16:8)

One of the most precious freedoms we have in this country is our freedom of religion.  We can go to any church of our choosing and freely worship God.  We can assemble as a congregation and sing praises to our King every week.  We can read aloud from God’s Word and boldly speak His Name. We can study our Bibles without fear of persecution or death.

Too often we take our freedoms for granted. It’s time we recognize and give thanks for how truly blessed we are.

“Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name;
     make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
     tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
     let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Look to the LORD and his strength;
     seek his face always.

Remember the wonders he has done,
     his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,
O descendants of Abraham his servant,
     O sons of Jacob, his chosen ones.
He is the LORD our God;
     his judgments are in all the earth.” (Psalm 105:1-7)

When we grow complacent, apathetic, or have feelings of entitlement, we become blind to the blessings in our life.  When we can’t see the blessings, we grow discouraged. Perhaps we could all benefit from a few reminders of just how blessed we are…

If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the
million who won’t survive the week.

If you have never experienced
the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or
the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 million people
around the world.

If you attend a church meeting
without fear of harassment,
arrest, torture, or death,
you are more blessed than almost
three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If your parents are still married and alive,
you are very rare,
especially in the
United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority can,
but most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them
or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can
offer God’s healing touch.

If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in the world
that cannot read anything at all.
