Caitlyn Boyle started a movement called Operation Beautiful not long ago, and it has already reached every continent in the world! Caitlyn was feeling very down on herself and decided she’d had enough of the “fat talk” and negative thoughts in her life.  At a particularly low point, she wrote a positive message on a post-it note and left it on a bathroom mirror for someone else to find.  She took a picture of her note and wrote about it on her blog.  Caitlyn never imagined the impact this one small gesture would make. Her idea spread like wildfire.  Now people all over the world are writing positive messages and leaving in public places for others to find. I encourage you to check out Caitlyn’s website www.operationbeautiful.com.

I recently had an opportunity to sit down and talk with Caitlyn in-person.  I shared how similar Operation Beautiful is to the mission of Living in Truth Ministries.  Both organizations are focused on renewing the mind. However, Living in Truth Ministries renews the mind with God’s Word – not the words of man.

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)

I can’t help but wonder…. what might happen if you and I began leaving anonymous notes with uplifting messages of hope through Scriptures?  One thing I know for sure; God’s Word will never go void.  That’s a promise!

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,  so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”  (Isaiah 55:10-11)

How might it impact someone’s day to find messages such as these…

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

“The king is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. (Psalm 45:11)

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)

I talked with Caitlyn and asked permission for us to get our own “positive message movement” going.  She thought it was a great idea!   We’re calling it Operation Living in Truth. Grab a stack of sticky notes and anonymously leave God’s messages of hope in random public places.  Afterwards, forward us an email to share your story, and we’ll post it on our website. www.livingintruthministries@gmail.com
