One summer our family went boating up the river with some friends.  It had rained the night before, but since the weather forecast for the following afternoon looked promising, we decided to continue with our initial plans. My husband and I have a checklist of responsibilities to keep our boating trips running smoothly. Since the boat floats and the car doesn’t, my husband backs up the trailer while I take the helm of the watercraft. Once the boat is free from the trailer, I pull around to the nearest dock, allowing our friends and family to safely climb aboard. We then wait for my husband to join us.We sat in the boat watching my husband navigate the parking lot, looking for a place to park. While driving around, he decided to take a short cut through a small grassy area – a maneuver he had done many times before with no problem.  Unfortunately, the summer rain from the night before had left the ground saturated, so as soon as the SUV hit the grass, all four tires sank down in the mud and started spinning.  He was stuck in a rut!I called out to him, asking if he needed some help, but he shook his head, determined to get out of the predicament on his own.We watched helplessly as he rocked the vehicle forward and backward, trying to break free from the muddy furrow.  But no amount of rocking worked.  I called out to him one last time, Are you sure you don’t need some help?” Finally
