Today’s Post By: Rae Lynn DeAngelisHave you ever noticed how difficult it can be to move forward while looking back? One day I was walking out to my garage to get something when my husband asked me a question. I looked back to answer him but continued walking forward. The next thing I knew I was lying flat on the garage floor.Moving forward while looking back will not only hinder our progress, but it may also cause us to stumble and fall.Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)I am reminded through this Scripture that moving forward isn’t an easy thing to do. The very words that the apostle Paul uses to describe the method of moving forward imply that it takes a deliberate action. He uses words like pressing on, straining toward, and taking hold. Not that I have already obtained all this
