Today’s Post By: Rae Lynn DeAngelisAs a child I dreaded when team captains were asked to pick players for their sports line-up because I was always one of the last ones to be picked. It was hard to be one of the last ones standing, waiting to be chosen. It seemed to only confirm that which I already felt in my heart–nobody wants me.When I first joined organized sports, I spent a lot of time warming the bench. I remember thinking: If someone would just take a chance on me and give me an opportunity to play; maybe I could improve my skills and become a more valuable player to the team. Unfortunately, it seemed that taking a chance on an awkward kid who was uncomfortable in her own skin was an unlikely enterprise. Finally the day came! I wasn’t a fast runner or an aggressive player, but I was a good defender and had a powerful kick, so the coach started grooming me for the positions of full back and goalie. Because the coach had confidence in me, I began believing in myself. Eventually, I became a decent little soccer defender.Sometimes it just takes one person to believe in you for you to live up to your full potential.Even if man does not believe in you–God believes in you, and He greatly desires for you to be a part of His team. You don’t have to stand there, waiting to be picked. You are already chosen. You were hand-picked by God to fulfill His bigger plan and purpose. In him we were also chosen
