Today’s Post By: Rae Lynn DeAngelis

Early one morning on vacation, while my family was still sleeping, I tiptoed out of the room and stole a few minutes down by the beach. It was a wonderful chance to connect with God and take pleasure in His magnificent creation.

Strolling along the seashore, I stopped for a few moments to enjoy the beautiful sunrise; it was a breathtaking sight. Peering across the ocean’s expanse with waves sweeping over my feet, I began sinking further and further into the matter beneath me, and before long I was ankle deep in wet sand.

“But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” (Matthew 7:26-27)

God’s Word is the secure foundation we can count on to hold us up when life’s circumstances threaten to bring us down. Waves of uncertainty, hopelessness, grief, and doubt will sink us further and further into a pit of despair, if we are not standing on the solid promises of God.  Whether you’re experiencing the high or low tides of life, be sure that you are building on the solid foundation of God’s Word.

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25)
