“I am brave, I am bruised, I am who I’m meant to be, this is me.” – The Greatest Showman

I recently had someone tell me that I’m an expert in the area of beauty. I remember thinking the moment I heard those words, “An expert? In what? Beauty? Hair care? Self-Care? I’m not even an expert in my own life!”

Even though my own life journey has taught me much, I am far from an expert. I am simply a woman, like you, walking through life’s joys and sorrows, trying to figure out how to navigate this journey we call life.

In the eyes of the world, an expert is one who has mastered a specific skill set. I can transform someone with a new cut, color and outfit, but that transformation only lasts for a moment. That is my vocation, and I am an expert according to the world’s standards, but that is not my calling.

If I were to define my purpose, I’d liken myself to a disciple of Christ. I stand as a witness to His love and grace, cheering you on in your journey of faith. I am here to remind you of your worth and value in His eyes, to encourage you to embrace His truth and promises.

The song “This is Me” speaks to my soul, but it’s His voice that guides me. Through Soul Beautiful, I simply share His love and wisdom from behind the salon chair, to uplift and inspire you to journey with Him.

My hope is for you to find strength and courage in His presence, knowing that you are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image. You are soul beautiful, and I pray your soul knows it well.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well” (Psalm 139:14).

“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captive and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor” (Isaiah 61:1-3).
