I recently saw a great visual that helped me better appreciate a particular part of the Armor of God referenced in Ephesians 6:10-18. Before I share what the visual was, allow me to provide a bit of context.

Women who sign up to be part of the Eyes Wide Open (EWO) Healing Program receive a comprehensive packet of materials to support their journey. Week 4 of the 10-week program focuses on the importance of being covered with the Armor of God and taking your stand against the devil’s schemes. The program packet includes a beautiful flowered postcard that has a prayer to help them do just that.

I absolutely love this prayer and read it every morning during my devotion time. I envision myself putting on each piece of the armor; sometimes I even act it out. It’s important that we are protected with the full Armor of God so that we, too, can take our stand against the enemy’s schemes. Perhaps you have noticed, Satan is becoming bolder with his attacks. That’s because he knows his time is short. “But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short” (Revelation 12:12 NIV).

An important part of our armor is the Shield of Faith. In the past, I envisioned myself holding up the shield of faith and almost cowering behind it, hoping I wouldn’t get hurt by the enemy’s fiery darts coming my way. But then I saw something that forever changed my perception of the Shield of Faith and how it is meant to be used. This brings me to the visual I mentioned earlier.

I stumbled upon a video clip that showed a group of courageous soldiers advancing towards their enemy in battle. They were not cowering in fear behind their shields. Rather, they had locked arms as a platoon with shields in place and charged forward against their enemy, creating a greater impenetrable force.

When I saw this, God spoke to my heart and said, Rae Lynn, the Shield of Faith is more effective when you link arms with other Believers. My children don’t need to cower in fear behind their faith. They need to band together, charging boldly ahead. United you stand. Divided you fall.

My fellow believers, in light of this revelation, I have a challenge for you. Would you be willing to link arms with other believers and boldly take back the territory the enemy has stolen? Our rights, our freedoms, our voice, even our livelihoods in some cases have been stripped away. But no more. We don’t need to cower in fear.  We have God’s Armor to protect and empower us. There is a way we can tangibly link arms. It is through prayer. And this ministry has a practical way that you can do just that.

The “Prayer of Protection” postcard is something that you can tuck into your Bible, prayer journal, or purse. You can place it on your night stand or even on your refrigerator. If you would like one of these prayer cards, simply CLICK HERE. Each prayer card is $3 including shipping. We will mail your prayer postcard directly to you. Buy several to put around your house and/or share with other believers. When you pass one along, be sure to share the visual I shared with you. The more soldiers we have praying together and marching boldly behind the Shield of Faith, the better.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God,… And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” (Ephesians 6:10, 18 NIV).

(NOTE: 100% of the proceeds from these prayer cards goes directly towards supporting the continuing mission of Living in Truth Ministries. If you would like to learn more about our programs, tools, or resources, CLICK HERE.)
