Our community group was instructed to navigate a course that was designed to help us work together as a team. After a rocky start, we began to make progress towards our predetermined destination, but just when we thought we had the challenging course conquered, one of the girls lost her balance and fell off the wooden beam. Rules are rules. If someone fell off, we had to go back to the beginning and start again. Frustrated because we had almost made it to the finish line, we begrudgingly got into our positions and started over. But before we started moving forward again, one of the girls suggested we try things a little differently this time. To our surprise, her suggestion got us to our goal in record time!
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor…” (Ecclesiastes 4:9).
This is why community is so important. When we work together, we can accomplish so much more than when we go it alone. It’s one of the reasons healing groups like Eyes Wide Open are so effective. Women are no longer alone in their struggle. “If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up” (Ecclesiastes 4:10-11).
Each woman brings a different set of experiences, strengths, gifts, and knowledge to the table. Resources are multiplied when we work together towards a common goal.
When you’re part of a community group, it’s not just about what you can get from the group. It’s also about what you can give. You never know. You just might hold the key to unlock someone else’s prison door.

- $75 includes all your materials plus the 10-week online experience
- Groups are led by trained leaders
- Groups are kept small (8 including leaders)
- Need a computer with video capability
- Must register by Wednesday March 27th
