“So God created man in his image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)
Our daughter and son-in-law love to capture life’s moments through the lens of a camera, so I wasn’t surprised when they began to purchase professional photography equipment, turning their hobby into a part-time business. They have a gift for taking amazing pictures and an exceptional way of capturing the image of God through each of their subjects, whether it be man, creature, or nature.
From the very beginning, they recognized their talent was a gift from God and understood the importance of using it for God’s Kingdom. Heather and David gave their venture a truly fitting name—His Image Photography.
I love their mission statement:
We believe that every human being is created in the image of God, and that each person is a beautifully unique reflection of Him. We use photography to capture this matchless beauty, to share and remember life’s greatest moments that have been given to us by Him.
You and I have been created in the image of God, but sin leaves its dirty residue on our hearts, marring our ability to reflect God’s image as He originally intended. When Jesus went to the cross, He paid the penalty for our sins, but we must still go through the refining process before Christ’s image becomes visible to those around us.

God’s ultimate purpose for each and every one of us is that we would reflect the image of our Creator. The more time we spend in God’s presence, the more we begin to resemble our Creator and reflect His image.
“Our hearts are like a photographer’s film—the longer exposed, the deeper the impression. ~Streams in the Desert
“And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)
“Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12)
How well are you reflecting God’s image?
Like images from a camera, the longer exposed the deeper the impression.
