“Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught at the voice of the enemy…” (Psalm 55:1-3)

God is the only one who can tend to the secret places where pain calls to bondage. ~Beth Moore

There is a place in each of our souls where no human can possibly go. And yet, it is the one place we must allow God to enter, so He can minister to our deepest needs.

God is the only one who is never intimidated by the depth and length of our needs. ~Beth Moore

I was having one of those days where I was feeling extremely discouraged. I had shared my heart with my sister and a few close friends, and although they offered some wonderful encouragement and helped me see to things from a better perspective, it wasn’t until I allowed God all the way into my heart that my spirit truly begin to lift.

Later that evening, I had a good long cry. Sometimes a girl just needs to do that.  Then I prayed, read some Scriptures, and went to bed.  I didn’t sleep very well, but God spoke the words I needed to hear through the following morning’s devotion.

Never fear the fierce storms that even now may be blowing through your life. Storms bring blessings, and rich fruit will be harvested later.” ~Streams in the Desert

I cried again, but this time they were tears of joy. God hadn’t forgotten me after all.  All at once my spirit was lifted, and I felt a wash of God’s love.

“….Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me…” (Psalm 50:15)
