Today’s Post By: Rae Lynn DeAngelis
Sometimes the Lord whispers His truths, and sometimes He shouts them. One particular morning His message came in loud and clear.
The LORD is great and most worthy of my praise.
The miracle of Jesus raising Lazarus from the grave was the featured story in my devotion that morning. The author explained how Jesus had given praise and thanks to His Father before the miracle took place.
“…Jesus looked up and said, ‘Father, I thank you that you have heard me.’” (John 11:41b)
The author continued…
“Praise is actually the most vital preparation to the working of miracles. Miracles are performed through spiritual power, and our spiritual power is always in proportion to our faith?” ~Streams in the Desert
God spoke to my heart. Rae Lynn, you need to offer up praise and thanks to me and believe I will do as you have asked.
“According to your faith let it be done to you.” (Matthew 9:29)
I had been praying a consistent prayer concerning a strained relationship with a friend. I wanted forgiveness and peace between us.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:9-11)
We may not know the mind of God, but we can certainly know the character of God because He repeatedly reveals His character through His Word. His character remains steadfast.
If our prayers fall within the boundaries of what we know about God’s character, then we can rest assured that God will answer our prayers. It may not be in the timing we prefer, and it may not take place in the manner we anticipate, but God will certainly come through.
True to His Word, God brought healing and restoration to my relationship. God is good!
“Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise….” (Psalm 48:1)
Let’s start giving God praise and thanks now for what we believe He will do later.
