God doesn’t throw away his handiwork and start from scratch – instead, he uses the same canvas to repair and make more beautiful the painting marred by the vandal. The vandal doesn’t get the satisfaction of destroying his rival’s masterpiece. On the contrary, God makes an even greater masterpiece out of what his enemy sought to destroy. ~Randy Alcorn
God takes the very things in our lives that Satan mars and restores them completely. Then He amazingly transforms it into our life’s mission. Taking the ashes of our lives, our Father replaces them with something beautiful.
“…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness
instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” (Isaiah 61:3)
After God set me free from bulimia, He laid the groundwork for me to reach out and help others who are struggling in the same way. The Lord completely transformed what Satan once sought to destroy, and turned it into my calling in life.
He will do the same for you!
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11)
“Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs.” (Isaiah 61:7)
God will give you double for your former trouble! ~Joyce Meyers
