January 1st marks the date when many commit to some kind of New Year’s resolution. I don’t know why, but for some reason we humans like to have a starting reference for getting our lives back in order. Unfortunately, finding balance can be a continuous struggle. Just when we think we’re on the right track, something swoops in and disrupts our progress, leaving us feeling defeated and ready to give up.
For many, physical and spiritual health are the top targets for finding balance. We are eager to make our health and relationship with God a greater priority, but we simply don’t know where to begin. If this is how you are feeling, I have good news!
Living in Truth Ministries is offering a new session of the “I’m Beautiful” program – a program designed to help women accomplish both physical and spiritual balance in their lives. Many have the misconception that Living in Truth is only for women struggling with full blown eating disorders, however, this is not the case. Living in Truth Ministries is focused on helping women see themselves as they truly are – BEAUTIFUL! Women are created in God’s image, vessels with intrinsic value and purpose in this world. It’s time we start living like it! One of God’s greatest desires is to have us become clearer reflections of His Son Jesus. But before we can accurately reflect Jesus, we must first have a healthy relationship with God and healthy perspective of ourselves.
The world that we live in is filled with lies, lies that constantly threaten to pull us away from God and distract us from both who we are and who God wants us to be. Living in Truth Ministries (LITM) is committed to helping women uncover the many lies they have come to believe about themselves and help them to live in God’s Truth.
“Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) Not only do we need to know the Truth, but we need to live in Truth. This is where the support and encouragement of other women becomes invaluable.
LITM is Christian-based but non-denominational. By meeting in a neutral location (Dearborn County Hospital), women with differing faith backgrounds can come together and grow in their relationship with God while finding a healthy balance where physical, spiritual, and mental health are concerned.
Since the beginning of time, Satan has been using food, poor body-image, and low self-esteem to pull us away from God. First, came the sin (Adam and Eve ate from the tree of good and evil – the tree of which God told them not to eat), then came an unhealthy perception of the body and the need to cover it up. Satan’s tactic of deception worked so well this first time that he continues to use it today.
It’s time to break free from Satan’s grip and live as the free vessels Christ died on the cross to allow us to be.
Whether you struggle with poor body-image, an unhealthy relationship with food, or an eating disorder, this class is for you!
