Today’s Post Written By: Rae Lynn DeAngelisI hate to admit it, but I’m directionally challenged. My handicap is so bad that when I come out of a store, I struggle to find where I parked my car. If I get off the highway, I become disoriented and have a hard time finding my way back to the entrance ramp. For crying out loud, I even get lost in the mall. The irony in all of this is that at one point in time, everyone in my family had a navigational system in their car except me. One day I noticed my son’s GPS system sitting on the dash and asked him about it. Because he was no longer using it and had a navigational system on his cell phone, he gave his Garmin to me. I set the device on the dash of my car but had no idea how it worked. When we first become Christians, we are given a two-part navigational system – the Holy Spirit and God’s Word. Both are effective tools for leading us along the straight and narrow path of life, but they are only effective if we know how they work.  I can affix my son’s Garmin to the dash of my car, but I still need to turn it on and read the instruction manual, otherwise it’s of no real benefit to me.In the same way, we can accept the gift of salvation and own a Bible, but if we never read it or understand the power of Holy Spirit in our lives, we are not experiencing the fullness of what God has to offer. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching
