Not too long ago, I got “nabbed” at the mall by a beautiful Puerto Rican woman selling skincare products at a kiosk. I’ve always had the willpower to smile and walk by, but not on this occasion, nor my friendly friend who stopped to talk to her. Long story short, we got talked into a 2-hour facial. Then the sales pitch came out—a strong sales pitch. This woman had to have sold timeshare units in Puerto Rico! She was that hard to resist. (If you’ve ever been on the end of a timeshare sales pitches, you know what I’m talking about).

She basically said, “I can sell you this line of products at such a great price because your face will be my business card. When your friends see how vibrant and youthful you look, they’ll want to buy my products.”

I think we sometimes forget that we are God’s business card. Not merely do our faces represent Him, but our entire selves, particularly our attitudes. If we desire to be God’s business card, leading others to the real fountain of life and youth, then we’ve got to first make sure we’re connected to the source ourselves.

When we represent God, we represent Love itself. This can be tough for many of us, especially if we grew up feeling unloved or love with strings attached. Someone once asked me, “Since I’ve never in my life experienced real love, how can I love someone else like God does?”

The Bible tells us:

1—God is Love: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love” (1 John 4:8).

2—God pours His love into you: “And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us” (Romans 5:5).

3—God lives in you: “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16); “In him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit” (Ephesians 2:22).

4—God’s love is never leaving you: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).

Let’s put these together: If you are a believer, you know God, who is the definition of Love. And Love (God) lives in you and has poured His love into you. Therefore, you have the ability to love another person and to be loved the way God created you to love and be loved—and nothing can separate God’s love from you. The clincher is: We need to first learn to love God and allow Him to love us. This is how we become God’s business card of love to other people.
